An excellent site which includes current activity statistics for New Zealand volcanoes, what to do in an eruption, information on how GNS monitors volcanic activity. The photo gallery is excellent and very up to date.
On the same site you should also check out the Kids' Jump Station http://www.gns.cri.nz/news/kids/index.html which links to both the GNS site and external sites. You can download White Island wallpaper for your computer or a White Island screensaver. This site is a must view, and the best site we have found for information about New Zealand volcanoes.

This site contains a wide range of information suitable for students at all levels. It includes volcano lessons, information on types of volcanoes, and instructions on how to build volcano models. There are links to on line lessons which use the internet as a resource for further investigation. A massive site with an incredible range of information. Well worth a look.

United States Geological Survey Volcano Hazards Program

Despite the serious sounding name this is a well resourced site for senior students. The site refers almost exclusively to volcanoes in the United States, but includes detailed fact Sheets and FAQs which can be accessed and downloaded as PDFs or HTML. The site also features an extensive Photoglossary of volcano terminology with links to other related terms. Worth checking out.
